Search Engine Optimization as a Service (SEOaaS)
When I sat down to write this article I didn't begin knowing that I'd want to write once more about the very obscure topic of search engine optimization or from here forward labeled as SEO. I thought that the topic might not receive a lot of interest from those normally reading these articles, but after some additional thought I found myself thinking that my opinion was impaired. My opinion was based on how much knowledge I believe most Information Technology Club members have about SEO. It is my belief that not many of us totally grasp the entirety of SEO. I think most of us, along with the silent majority of corporate leaders, haven't got a clue about what SEO really is except for a few general principles: meta keywords, incoming links, and content.
Generally speaking most people think of SEO as something you do to a web site to improve the volume and quality of traffic that it will receive from search engines. This is the single most important understanding that a person must reach when they are considering SEO. The idea is that a web site needs to be designed with a lasting foundation, but then needs to be improved upon and revisited almost daily in order to ensure that the traffic will approach and reach the goals set forth by the customer.
Implementing basic SEO factors into a web site is just the beginning. A person can ensure that each page contains the correct key words in headings, alt attributes, anchor tags, but this is just a start. Additional work is needed to make sure that incoming links will not only contain the correct key words, but also that they are coming from a site with content relevant to your website. This is where SEO consultants can come in by acquiring links to a company web site from reputable and relevant sources. SEO consultants provide professional consulting, historical marketing statistics, and another avenue to go to for web site improvement. Additionally SEO consultants provide companies with the oversight needed when a web site is designed and implemented ensuring a solid foundation for the web site.
Anyone can find information online relating to SEO. Anyone can take those basic principles and add them to a web site. But not just anyone is going to have the knowledge and resources necessary to ensure a lasting and strong SEO experience. SEO is something that needs to be practiced from start to finish, from day to day. If you want to be sure that your web site is going to be found in the results of the queries that your customers use when they need to find what they are buying then you need to consider using SEO consulting services. And as more and more companies begin to employ these tactics and utilizing these services the business of SEO will improve on itself as more companies begin to sprout up offering SEO consulting services.
When a person thinks about the future of information technology and the number of web sites that will contain the same information over and over, that person will ask themselves, "How can I find the information that I want? How can I find the information that I am looking for?" If you want your company or your web site to be the information that your customers and users are finding when they search for your web site then you need to consider the option of SEOaaS. Borrowing from the acronym "SaaS" which means "software as a service", I am coining a new term for the masses. "Search Engine Optimization as a Service" (SEOaaS) will be a new marketing model in the near future. You watch and you will see companies sprouting up to offer this new service that many companies will be "searching" for, pun intended.
