Step by Step Outerinfo Adware Removal

If your computer is infected with Outerinfo adware and pop-ups then you have an extensive process ahead of you. In addition to Outerinfo you may have other malware on your computer so before you think you are out of the water you may wish to check for other infections after you've removed Outerinfo.

Step 1:
Add/Remove Programs - Go to your Start Menu and follow this path Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Look for any of these programs and uninstall them.

  • » Yazzle by Oin
  • » Purityscan by Oin
  • » Snowballwars by Oin
  • » Anything similar with Oin or Outerinfo in it
  • » Zolero
  • » Tizzletalk
  • » MediaTickets
  • » Cowabanga
Step 2:
Download and run uninstaller - OiUninstaller.
Don't reboot!
Step 3:
Download and install MVPS HOSTS - hosts.
Note: Your computer may slow down. If it does and you want to fix this do the following.
  • » Go to Start > Run and type "services.msc" > OK
  • » Scroll down to "DNS Client". Right-click and select "Properties".
  • » Choose "Startup type" and select "Manual"
  • » Apply
  • » Reboot
Step 4:
Download and run ComboFix - ComboFix.
Note: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. Doing so may cause it to stall.
  • » ComboFix will create a folder called QooBox in C:
  • » When you are done you can delete this folder, it will contain any folders that were quarantined.
Step 5:
Download and install 30 day trial version of AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 - http://www.ewido.net/en/download/.
Note: After it is installed, check for updates.
  • » Double-click AVG-AS icon in system tray or desktop.
  • » Select Update and Start Update. Download and install any updates.
  • » Select Scanner and Settings.
  • » Select Recommended Actions and Quarantine.
  • » Select Automatically generate report after every scan under Reports.
  • » Un-Select "Only if threats were found".
Step 6:
Clean out temporary and TIF Files.
Note: After it is installed, check for updates.
  • » Go to Start > Run and type "cleanmgr" > OK
  • » Check Temporary Files.
  • » Check Temporary Internet Files.
  • » Check Recycle Bin.
  • » Select OK to remove.
Step 7:
Perform Complete System Scan.
Note: This will take a while to run.
  • » Select Scanner and Complete System Scan.
  • » Wait for scan to run, it will take some time.
  • » Select Apply All Actions.
  • » Select Reports and Save by Copying and Pasting to Notepad or Wordpad.
  • » Close AVG-AS.
